We are excited to announce that Sesi Technologies, in partnership with the DIPPER Lab at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), has received funding from the Research and Innovation Systems for Africa (RISA) Fund through UK International Development.

This funding marks a major step in scaling up FarmSense, our AI-powered soil intelligence platform that provides farmers with real-time insights on soil health to optimise fertiliser use, improve yields, and protect the environment.

Driving Agricultural Transformation with FarmSense

FarmSense was originally co-developed under an Innovate UK Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with KNUST and Manchester Metropolitan University. Built in Ghana, for Africa, FarmSense represents a homegrown solution to the persistent soil productivity challenges faced by smallholder farmers.

With support from the RISA Fund, we will:

• Train farmers and extension officers across multiple regions, equipping them with practical skills in soil testing.

• Onboard selected districts to the FarmSense platform and deploy our soil sensors directly into farmers’ hands.

• Strengthen research–industry linkages to accelerate commercialisation and build a sustainable pathway for impact.
