Located in Kumasi, in the middle of Ghana, Sesi Technologies is made up of young people from diverse fields, working together to fulfill a big purpose – to create and live in a world where poverty and hunger does not exist.

Our mission is to lead the way to no poverty and zero hunger in Africa by empowering farmers and businesses with impactful technology solutions.

Our Story

Sesi Technologies was born in March 2018 out of a simple but powerful idea: technology can transform the lives of Africa’s farmers.

Our founder, Isaac Sesi, began this journey while working as a Research Engineer at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Leading a small team, he helped redesign and localise a grain moisture meter originally developed at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. After witnessing first-hand how this affordable tool could help smallholder farmers reduce devastating post-harvest losses, Isaac made a bold decision — to commercialise the technology and make it accessible to millions of farmers across Sub-Saharan Africa.

From those humble beginnings, Sesi Technologies has grown into a pioneering agritech company dedicated to tackling one of the biggest challenges of our time: food insecurity. What started with the GrainMate Moisture Meter has now evolved into a suite of innovations that empower farmers and agribusinesses to reduce losses, maximise productivity, and build lasting prosperity.

Our latest breakthrough, FarmSense, is a low-cost soil intelligence platform that gives farmers the power to understand their soils, apply the right fertilisers, and sustainably increase yields. By combining a rugged handheld soil sensor with an AI-powered mobile platform, FarmSense helps farmers and agribusinesses make smarter, data-driven decisions — transforming productivity from the ground up.

Since 2018, we have impacted more than 50,000 farmers and 1,000 agribusinesses across Ghana and beyond, partnered with leading mission-driven organisations and research institutions worldwide and grown from a one-person idea into a passionate team of 20+ full time staff driven by the vision of ensuring that no child goes to bed hungry.

Our story is still being written. With every farmer we empower and every harvest we protect, we take one step closer to creating a future where technology helps unlock prosperity and food security for millions across Africa.
