GrainMate GM-101 Grain Moisture Meter

The GrainMate GM-101 Grain Moisture Meter is an affordable and easy-to-use grain moisture meter which makes it easy to accurately determine the moisture content of harvested grains before storage to help reduce post-harvest losses.

Accurately tell the moisture content in your grains.

The result of 3 years of research and field testing by post-harvest loss experts across multiple countries, GrainMate is an effective, low-cost solution to post-harvest losses, making it easy for anyone to measure moisture content in grains before and during storage

GrainMate is calibrated to measure moisture content in many popular grains and legumes grown in Africa including corn, soyabean, wheat, sorghum, rice and chickpea with the capacity to support up to 32 different commodities.

GrainMate means fewer losses to farmers, more profits for farmers and safer food for all.

GrainMate meets pattern approval tests from the Ghana Standards Authority

Who Can Use GrainMate

Grain Farmers

Grain farmers who dry and store grains in significant quantities can use it to measure the moisture content in their grains during drying or before storage to ensure that the grains are within the recommended levels for those commodities. This will help reduce insect infestation, contamination and losses.

Poultry Farmers

Poultry farmers who store grain for poultry feed can use GrainMate to make sure that grains supplied to them meet recommended moisture levels. This will reduce insect infestation and aflatoxin contamination while maintaining the quality of grain ensuring that feed prepared with those grains contains nutrients in the right proportions for optimum productivity of birds and egg production. It will reduce the need for aflatoxin binders, thus saving cost.

Crop Aggregators and Grain Buying Companies

Crop aggregators can use GrainMate to ensure that grains they are buying from farmers are within recommended moisture levels.  This will help aggregators meet moisture level standards set by food processing companies they supply to. It also helps them determine proper stock rotation so they know which bags to sell first.

Food Processing Companies

Food processing companies can use GrainMate to determine the moisture content in grains being supplied to them by farmers and aggregators to ensure they fall within specifications.

Agric Extension Officers

Agric extension officers can use GrainMate to educate smallholder farmers about drying, moisture, storage of grains and post-harvest loss mitigation as a whole.
